KOREAN
WAR VETERANS ASSOCIATION
TREASURE COAST CHAPTER 106
The Korean War is referred to as the "Forgotten War", however, for the 1.7 million men and women who served and fought in Korea during those 37 months of conflict in South and North Korea and especially for the families and loved ones of those who made the supreme sacrifice for the freedom of the people of South Korea it can never be forgotten. The term "Forgotten War" is a somewhat misleading reference to the Korean War; you could say that it was never forgotten by anyone. Those who never learned about the Korean War did not have anything to forget and those who served and fought in Korea did not have the option to forget. Compared to other military conflicts involving the United States, the Korean War was probably the least recognized and most difficult war fought in the 20th century.
Memories and Experiences of the Korean War have been added to this site so that future generations will know the pain, suffering and sacrifices of young Americans in their fight to preserve the freedom of the people of South Korea.
